The story of creation of Adam in history, has attracted attention
of Abrahamic and especially Islamic religions and has had
ontological, epistemological and also moral dimensions, as it has an
important effect on believers' attitude and action .
In this paper, after defining generalities of the story (creation of
Adam) and lexicology of its elements and on the basis of verses,
narratives and attitudes of Islamic thinkers, it is discussed whether
the question (or protest) of angels regarding creation of Adam
associates with their chastity or not .
Based on a descriptive-analytic research, some attitudes about
protesting aspect of angels' question are taken into consideration
and some of the problems are discussed. Sadr ol-Motaallehin Shirazi
and Allame Tabatabai's views are presented on the basis of some
reasons and evidences which shows that angels' chastity and their
speech has an interrogative aspect not protesting.
